BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has warned that if the upcoming national election becomes controversial, the country will face an uncertain future.
He made the remark on Saturday (August 16) at BNP’s central office in Naya Paltan, while addressing a doa mahfil and discussion meeting organized by Jubo Dal on the occasion of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s birthday.
Salahuddin Ahmed said those who are trying to delay the election with various excuses are not the real strength of democracy. He emphasized that, following Khaleda Zia’s directives, BNP is moving forward through dialogue and within the democratic process.
He further stated that to build a truly democratic state, anti-fascist forces must be united under a national consensus. At the same time, he cautioned that people will resist those who are attempting to justify delays in holding the election.
