Bangladesh clinched a dramatic win against Afghanistan in the first T20I at Sharjah, surviving a shocking middle order collapse to secure 4 wicket victory with 8 balls to spare.

The Tigers got off to a flying start thanks to an explosive opening stand between Parvez Hossain and Tanzid Hasan, who put on 109 runs without loss. At that stage, the chase looked well within control, with Bangladesh cruising toward an easy victory.

However, the match took a dramatic turn when the batting order crumbled. In just 9 runs, Bangladesh lost 6 wickets, slipping from a dominant position to near disaster. What once seemed like a comfortable win suddenly appeared out of reach.

Captain Nurul Hasan then rose to the occasion. Holding his nerve under immense pressure, he guided his side to victory with a calm yet impactful unbeaten knock of 23 runs off just 13 deliveries. His leadership and composure ensured Bangladesh crossed the finish line despite the collapse.

Parvez and Tanzid’s powerful opening laid the foundation for the win, but it was Nurul’s steady hand at the death that sealed the result. Despite making the game far more difficult than it initially appeared, Bangladesh ultimately held their ground to claim a thrilling victory.
