Senior journalist and political analyst Masud Kamal has said that no foreign nation can teach Bangladesh how its democracy should function or how its political parties should govern. “That must come from our own people, from the soil of this country,” he emphasized.

He stated, “It doesn’t matter how knowledgeable you are; what matters is how patriotic you are. A wise person can still be a cunning thief, but a patriotic person—even if uneducated—cannot be dishonest. Patriotism is what truly matters.”

Masud Kamal further added, “A person born in this country who later accepts the citizenship of another has already proven that he is less patriotic than a farmer who remains loyal to his motherland.”
