100 Examinees Take 2026 Exam Under 2025 Syllabus

Examinees at Govt. Ashek Mahmud College in Jamalpur mistakenly received outdated question papers during their Bangla second paper exam on Saturday due to a packaging error.

Around 100 examinees sat for their Bangla second paper examination using the 2025 syllabus question paper instead of the current 2026 version at a exam center in Jamalpur on Saturday (4 July) morning.

The incident occurred in room 4202 of the Govt. Ashek Mahmud College center. All the examinees are students of Govt. Zaheda Safir Mohila College.

Speaking to Star News, Govt. Ashek Mahmud College Principal Showkat Alam Mir explained that the mix-up resulted from incorrect packaging. The questions arrived in five bundles of 20 papers each, with every bundle clearly labeled “2026” on the outside. However, the question papers sealed inside followed the 2025 syllabus.

Since there was no opportunity to inspect the contents before the examination began, the invigilators opened the bundles and distributed the papers to the students,” Principal Mir said. “It was revealed after the examination concluded that these papers were actually meant for irregular and improvement examinees.

Upon realizing the error, the college authorities immediately contacted the education board. The board has instructed the center to mail the answer scripts of the affected 100 students separately. Their scripts will be reviewed under a lenient evaluation process aligned with the 2025 syllabus.

A total of 69 irregular and improvement candidates took the Bangla second paper exam at the Govt. Ashek Mahmud College center. In total, more than 900 examinees appeared for the test at this venue.
