Election to Be Held in February, No Compromise: Chief Adviser

Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has reaffirmed that the next national election will be held in February, emphasizing that there will be no compromise in ensuring a fair and festive electoral environment.

He made the remarks on Wednesday (October 15) during an emergency meeting of the National Consensus Commission with political parties, which discussed the implementation process of the “July Charter.”

“The election will be held in February — without fail,” the Chief Adviser said. “It will be held in a festive atmosphere. We will do everything within our capacity to make that happen. There will be no compromise on this matter.”

Thanking the representatives of various political parties, Dr. Yunus said, “The July Charter is the outcome of your long discussions and collective efforts. You have contributed your thoughts and ideas to bring it to its final stage. Through this, you have become part of history — even if you may not yet fully realize its significance while being part of the process.”

He further said that copies of the July Charter will be distributed to all political parties. “As long as I’m here, I will ensure that these important documents you’ve created are preserved and promoted. Each of you will receive a copy so that you can clearly understand the areas of consensus you’ve reached. This document should be spread across society so that everyone gains a clear understanding of its contents.”

Calling on political parties to act on their commitments, Dr. Yunus urged them to “translate the principles and decisions outlined in the July Charter into everyday practice and political activities.”
