The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has been dissolved, as confirmed by National Sports Council (NSC) Director Aminul Ahsan.
An 11-member ad hoc committee has been formed, with former national captain Tamim Iqbal appointed as its president.
Following the board’s dissolution, Aminul Islam Bulbul is no longer the BCB president. Tamim has now taken over the role, leading the newly formed committee.
The committee comprises Rashna Imam, Athar Ali Khan, Mirza Yasir Abbas, Rafiqul Islam Babu, Salman Ispahani, Tanzil Chowdhury, Minhajul Abedin Nannu, Israfil Khasru, Syed Ibrahim Ahmed, and Fahim Sinha.
Among them, five members — Tamim Iqbal, Syed Ibrahim Ahmed, Israfil Khasru, Minhajul Abedin Nannu, and Salman Ispahani — are from Chattogram.
The committee also includes three members who are sons of ministers. Mirza Yasir Abbas is the son of Mirza Abbas, MP for Dhaka-8, who serves as a political adviser to the Prime Minister with ministerial status. Syed Ibrahim Ahmed is the son of Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, while Israfil Khasru is the son of Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury.
Rashna Imam, a lawyer, is the wife of State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj.

Tamim Iqbal and his associates had earlier raised concerns over the transparency of the BCB elections held on October 6 last year. They submitted a formal complaint to the National Sports Council, prompting the formation of a five-member independent investigation committee to examine allegations of irregularities, manipulation, and abuse of power.
The NSC submitted its investigation report two days earlier. Within 48 hours of the report’s submission, the BCB board was dissolved, and the new ad hoc committee was announced, with Tamim at the helm.
